This is regarding “Court debate of biblical proportions; 10 Commandments displays at issue” (News, March 3). The 10 Commandments represent a general statement of morality handed down to mankind thousands of years ago, which was then integrated into Judeo-Christian ethics, thereafter codified into English common law. These commandments merely set forth the difference between right and wrong to provide a compass for humanity to live good and honest lives.
All institutionalized religious frameworks throughout the world basically embrace these common-sense dictates as those principles necessary for the conduct of positive human behavior.
In this context, the 10 Commandments are not a religious text, and should remain on public display for all to see.
