Recently hospitals celebrated National Volunteer Week. Volunteers provide valuable assistance in the running of hospitals, which are already strained financially because of managed care and Medicare and other constraints. Their selfless giving should be appreciated by not only all hospital administrators, physicians and nurses but also by all patients and the public.
