What it’s about: Ruthless loan shark Bart (Hoskins) raises Danny (Li) as a criminal attack dog, keeping him locked in a cage and collared until it’s time to make deadbeats pay up. Danny escapes and is humanized by a kindly blind piano tuner (Freeman) until Bart hunts him down.
