Congratulations to Tribune staff reporter James Janega and other Tribune reporters in Iraq for the you-are-there stories they send from the war in Iraq. Practically every afternoon I take out a map of Iraq and go over them with a fine-tooth comb.
The fiery story “`Floor it!’ GI shouts amid hail of gunfire; Marines in Iraq race to rescue a stranded tank crew, only to make a wrong turn into the enemy’s cross hairs” (Page 1, May 11) reads like a movie script and prompts this letter.
Thanks for giving readers some firsthand views of the fighting as it is happening. I don’t find that in a lot of other papers.
