A 5-month-old girl who was allegedly abducted from her home in Wheeling by her father was found safe late Sunday in Wisconsin, according to a Wheeling police dispatcher.
The father, Salvador R. Amezcua, 20, was arrested by police in Oak Creek, Wis., at about 11:15 p.m., hours after he was seen with his daughter, Adriana Amezcua, around 2 p.m. in his 1995 white Toyota Camry. At that time, he was headed south on Illinois Highway 53. An Amber Alert was issued as a result.
Officials said the baby appeared fine.
