Letter writer Deb Pierce makes a good point in her Sept. 22 letter to the editor (“Done with Field’s,” Voice of the people). I agree that if the name of an institution historically associated with Chicago (such as Marshall Field’s) can be changed on a dime, the name of the Cubs could potentially be changed to the Mets. While Pierce sees this as a bad thing, most White Sox fans like myself would love to see the Cubs become the Mets. The team could then move to New York and Chicago could finally concentrate on the real baseball being played on the South Side, instead of being distracted by the minor league squad currently inhabiting Wrigley Field.
