Is there something about a TV reporter standing in the midst of hurricane winds that makes his report more credible? My take is that it makes the reporter look ridiculous.

Get out of there, man, before you get blown away! Everyone else has left; what in heaven’s name are you still doing there?

Hey, we know how stiff the winds are–just like we know that in Chicago it snows every winter. We don’t need a reporter standing in a parka on a Kennedy overpass to show us it’s snowing.

Point a camera out the window–how simple is that?
