Some White Sox fans believe Joe Crede saved the season with the 11th-inning home run that beat Cleveland and prevented a series sweep by the hard-charging Indians on Sept. 20. So imagine their surprise when they found Crede’s name missing from the division champion “roster T-shirt” on sale at White Sox souvenir shops. According to Bob Grim of the White Sox marketing department, apparel manufacturer Majestic Athletic pulled a roster off a White Sox Web site before producing the shirts, and Crede wasn’t listed because he was on the disabled list with a broken finger. “We’re not happy about this, but Majestic now has safeguards in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again,” Grim said. “In fact, I just received a roster from Majestic, asking me to proof it should we be fortunate enough to make it to the ALCS.”
