Theodore A. Lyon Jr., age 91, late of Calumet City, IL, passed away on Oct. 4, 2005 at his daughter’s home. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret E. Lyon, nee Schmidt; dearest father of the late Peggy Lyon, Patricia (late Gerald) Lesniewski and the late Geraldine Boyd; loving grandfather of Nancy Corrie, Patricia (Lillo) Lucido, Paula (Jennifer Sharpe) Boyd, David Boyd and the late Deborah Boyd; doting great-grandfather to Kevin Corrie, Elaina Lucido, Brian Corrie and Annie Boyd Sharpe. He will be greatly missed by his best canine buddy and walking companion, Chester. Ted was a Word War II Veteran, United States Marine Corps (South Pacific Theatre), 60 year member National Association of Letter Carriers, retired from U.S. Postal Service in 1973 as Asst. Superintendent at Stockyards Station. Member Postal Supervisors Union. Life member of A.M.V.E.T.S. Post 7. Member of N.A.R.F.E. Chapter 1106 and self-proclaimed “luckiest guy around”. “Semper Fi”. Visitation Friday, Oct. 7, 2005 from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel, 11300 W. 97th Lane (1/2 block west of U.S. 41/Wicker Ave. at 97th Street), St. John, IN. Military honors and graveside service Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, 11500 S. Fairfield Ave., Chicago, IL.
