Bertha Clinton, nee Wiersema, 87, passed away September 30, 2005. Beloved wife of the late Leslie Clinton; loving mother of James (Karen) and Ruth Gehrke; grandmother of James (Diana), Julie (Barry) Carlson, Steven (Karen), Eric, Allison, Amy, Holly Marback, the late Beth (Chris) Cress, Clinton (Cynthia) Gehrke, Clayton Gehrke; and proud greatgrandmother of 12; and great-great-grandmother of two. Bertha is survived by sisters Freda Stevens of Titusville, FL, and Alice Schwer of Deming, NM, and brother Henry Wiersema of Kenosha, WI. She was a charter member of Community Presbyterian Church in Lombard. She loved to play the piano, often playing at church and Moose Lodge events. Bertha was an avid reader, loved puzzles and baseball. A retired bookkeeper, she stayed mentally sharp through her retirement years by doing freelance bookkeeping work for several local trade unions and working crossword puzzles. Memorial service Saturday, October 15, 3 p.m., at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 1105 Catalpa Lane, Naperville, IL, 630-355-8181.
