Robert S. Cooper, Long Beach, IN, passed away Oct. 3, 2005 at the Arbors of Michigan City. There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place and private family services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel handled arrangements. Mr. Cooper was born Aug. 22, 1923 in Winetka, IL, to Fredrick and Blanche, nee Buddeke, Cooper. On Jan. 7, 1947 in Evanston, IL, he married Barbara Smyth, who preceded him on Feb. 2, 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Carole (John) McDonald of Laporte, IN and Constance Cooper of Laporte, IN; three sons, Fredrick Cooper of Michigan City, IN, Robert L. (Sally) Cooper of Laporte, IN and Mark (Kim) Cooper of Gurnee, IL; two granddaughters, Kelley CooperChu and Lane Cooper; three grandsons Sean, Terrance and Kevin McDonald. He was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Sweney; and one brother, Fredrick Cooper. He retired after 40 years as a self-employed commercial artist. He also was a Military Artist who owned Nostalg-Air. He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, the Barn Owls, and former member of the Elks Lodge.
