The rest of New Hampshire may be reveling in fall foliage, but atop Mount Washington, it’s a winter wonderland of record proportions. The 6,288-foot summit, the Northeast’s tallest peak, got 34 inches of snow between Saturday and Monday, beating the record for the most snowfall from a single storm in October. Officials on Tuesday said the storm left it looking like January or February, with 12-foot drifts and tons of ice.
