I am a true blue Cubs fan, but I’m also a Chicagoan, so I rooted for the White Sox. I know there are Cubs fans who did not. I don’t know if their dislike of the Sox is that great or if they would feel disloyal. Whatever the case, they missed some good baseball, stuff that we’re not used to, such as:

– Game 1–Late in the game the Astros had the bases loaded with nobody out. And the Sox bullpen struck out the side. I don’t think that’s happened up north since Bruce Sutter departed.

– Game 2–The Sox won on a walk-off homer! I never even heard that term before then.

– Game 3–The Sox won in extra innings. Imagine that up north.

– Game 4–The Sox pitched a shutout. That means they didn’t allow the other team to score any runs. And it was a sweep!

Complete game victories, sacrifice bunts, runners being thrown out at the plate, stolen bases, hitting the cut-off man. Wow!

Pay attention, Cubs fans; there’s a new game in town.
