As a longtime horse racing fan, I enjoyed watching the White Sox burst through the playoffs like a great thoroughbred down the stretch. In fact, their entire season plots out like a great horse race. The Sox got out of the gate well and worked to improve their position, separating themselves from the pack.
Before the final push, they rested themselves a bit, allowing the others to creep up (perhaps giving some the impression that they were spent).
Like a true champion, however, they got back to business, flexed their muscle and left the others with World Series hopes in the dust!
