Thanksgiving may be two weeks away, but if you’re planning on dining out, it’s high time you made a reservation. Some of the top hotel destinations are virtual sellouts already.
Nearly every hotel in town offers Thanksgiving dinner in one form or another, as do a number of independent restaurants. Following is a list of some of the most interesting Thanksgiving destinations, as well as a shorter list of places that are offering Thanksgiving-to-go carryout packages (an at-home Thanksgiving with very little of the work). All dinners are Nov. 24, unless noted:
Dine in
Ann Sather (929 Belmont Ave.) will serve Thanksgiving dinner 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Included are roast turkey with dressing, chicken vegetable soup, tossed salad, homemade breads, cranberry sauce and homemade pie. Cost is $16.96, $9.95 children. 773-348-2378. In addition, Ann Sather Broadway (3411 N. Broadway; 773-305-0024) will serve its regular menu 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.
Aria (Fairmont Chicago, 200 N. Columbus Drive) will serve an a la carte Thanksgiving menu at lunch and dinner. Dishes include squash soup, roasted half-chicken, roasted turkey and pumpkin tart. Entree prices $27-$30 lunch, $29-$32 dinner. 312-444-9494.
Bin 36 Chicago (339 N. Dearborn St.) will offer a Thanksgiving Day menu with a choice of entrees (roast turkey with sage gravy among them), starter courses and family-style side dishes. Cost is $38, $19 children (under 12). 312-755-9463.
Bistro 110 (110 E. Pearson St.) will serve a three-course “La fete de Thanksgiving” 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Options include oven-roasted turkey breast with chestnut stuffing, honey-roasted ham, Bistro 110 salad and pumpkin creme brulee. Cost is $34.95, $12.95 ages 12 and younger. 312-266-3110.
Cafe des Architectes (Sofitel Chicago Water Tower, 20 E. Chestnut St.) will offer a prix-fixe holiday menu from 3-9 p.m. Selections include Maine lobster bisque and lobster flan, shrimp en papillotte, roast turkey, grilled beef filet and sauteed walleye. Cost is $55; a children’s menu for ages 6-12 is $25. 312-324-4000.
Cafe Lucci (609 Milwaukee Ave., Glenview) will serve a three-course traditional Thanksgiving dinner (soup or salad, turkey with sweet-apple stuffing, pumpkin pie) 1-7:30 p.m. Cost is $17.95, $12.95 under 12. 847-729-2268.
Chicago Diner (3411 N. Halsted St.) will serve its 23d annual “Vegan Thanksgiving” with seatings at noon and 2, 4 and 6 p.m. Dinner includes choice of soup, salad, choice of entree, sides, dessert and beverage. Cost is $35.95, $19.95 under age 6. View menu at www.veggiediner.com. 773-935-6696.
Coco Pazzo Cafe (636 N. St. Clair St.) will feature a Thanksgiving menu. Items are priced individually (entree range $18-$22) or opt for the $40 prix-fixe format. 312-664-2777.
Don Roth’s Blackhawk (61 N. Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling) will serve a special Thanksgiving Day menu 1-7 p.m. Included are roast turkey, candied yams, whipped potatoes and creamed spinach for $21.95, or baked sugar-cured ham with similar sides for $19.95. Both include the famed spinning salad bowl and dessert. Other entrees also available. Children’s menu (under age 12) ranges from $11.95 to $13.95 depending on entree. 847-537-5800.
Eaglewood Resort & Spa (1401 Nordic Rd., Itasca) will serve a Thanksgiving buffet, with seating times at 11 and 11:30 a.m. and 1 and 1:30 p.m. In addition to roast turkey, there will be carved prime rib, ham, seafood buffet and much more. Fireplace Inn (1448 N. Wells St.) will serve Thanksgiving Dinner from 1-8 p.m. In addition to the regular menu, the restaurant will add a turkey dinner with side dishes, dressing, salad and dessert for $17.95, $12.95 under 12. 312-664-5264.
Harry Caray’s (10233 W. Higgins Rd., Rosemont) will serve dinner 2-8 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Choose traditional roasted turkey ($26.95, $14.95 children) or prime rib ($32.95, $16.95 children), both of which include the side-dish buffet. 847-699-1200.
Lawry’s the Prime Rib (100 E. Ontario St.) will add roasted turkey to its menu, priced (with the usual accompaniments) at $27. 312-787-5000.
Mas (1670 W. Division St.) puts a little spice in its “renegade interpretation” of Thanksgiving dinner served 11 a.m.-10 p.m. The menu includes star-anise-rubbed turkey breast with pasilla and oregano butter, Brazilian herb-tossed candied beets and pumpkin tres leches cake. McCormick & Schmick’s (41 E. Chestnut St.) will serve a three-course Thanksgiving dinner priced at $19.95 (half price ages 12 and younger). Entree is either roast turkey or baked ham, both served with cornbread stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, candied yams and vegetables. 312-397-9500.
Mity Nice Grill (835 N. Michigan Ave.) will serve a four-course Thanksgiving feast, beginning with butternut squash soup and including choices of soup, entree and various pies. Cost is $34.95, $12.95 ages 12 and younger. Seatings will be at 1, 1:30, 3, 3:30, 5 and 5:30 p.m. 312-335-4745.
one sixtyblue (1400 W. Randolph St.) is closed on Thanksgiving Day, but will offer a Thanksgiving-inspired menu Nov. 21-23 and 25-26 that includes butternut squash soup, roasted pheasant, warm goat cheese with figs and creme brulee. Cost is $55. 312-850-0303.
Signature Room at the 95th (John Hancock Center, 875 N. Michigan Ave.) will serve a Thanksgiving buffet 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Included are roast turkey, roast beef, raw bar, salads, side dishes and desserts. A “kids only” station will have baked macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders and more. Parties will receive turkey leftover sandwiches. Cost is $52, $22 ages 4-12. 312-787-9596.

Dearborn St.) offers “Turkeys on the Run,” which include green salad, chestnut-prosciutto soup, turkey with bourbon-caramel-orange glaze, various accompaniments and pumpkin or apple pie. Chopping Block (Merchandise Mart, Kinzie and Wells Streets; 4747 N. Lincoln Ave.) is holding its annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale. Cyrano’s Bistrot & Wine Bar (546 N. Wells St.) will offer carryout, five-course Thanksgiving meals for $35. Included are soup, bread, appetizer, choice of entree, four vegetables, cheese and walnut bread and apple tart. Credit card prepayment required. 312-467-0546.
Fairmont Chicago (200 N. Columbus Drive) will offer a Thanksgiving-to-go package that serves 8 to 10 people for $165. Cost includes fresh roasted turkey, herb stuffing, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, side dishes, choice of pies and a chef’s hat–plus a loaf of holiday bread and tapenade spread for leftovers. The Goddess and the Grocer (1646 N. Damen Ave.) offers a variety of items for Thanksgiving-to-go, from whole-roasted turkeys and rotisserie Amish chickens to side dishes, vegetarian items and desserts. Heaven on Seven (city and suburbs) will be closed Thanksgiving, but you can order turkey dinners with mashed garlic or sweet potatoes, cornbread stuffing, gravy and collard greens ($19.95 per person, minimum 10) for carryout or delivery. Orders must be placed by Nov. 21. 312-224-8858.
Ina’s (1235 W. Randolph St.) is offering whole smoked turkeys or smoked turkey breasts for carryout. Orders include an oven bag for easy reheating.
