Mildred Gibson, age 96, of Lenexa, KS, formerly of Mayview, IL, passed away on Nov. 26, 2005 at Overland Park Regional Hospital, Overland Park, KS. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand, St. Joseph. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Rev. Linda Craig will officiate. Mrs. Gibson was born July 22, 1909 in Huntsburg, OH, the daughter of Edward H. and Stella Treat Dodge. She married Marx Gibson in Joliet on June 14, 1936. He preceded her in August of 1994. Survived by son, Ray Gibson of Evanston; daughter, Georgia Erickson of Leewood, KS; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Noll of Fayetteville, IN. Preceded by her husband; one son; and one great-grandson. Mrs. Gibson was a graduate of Urbana High School and attended the University of Illinois. She was a member of Kimberling United Methodist Church. She enjoyed Scouting, sewing and gardening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Overland Park Arboretum or the Deanna Rose Farmstead, City of Overland Park, 8500 Santa Fe, Overland Park, KS 66212.
