John C. Mann, 94, of Rockford, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005 in Provena Cor Mariae. Born Jan. 8, 1911 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Edward and Martha, nee Liesse, Mann. He married Ruth McNally in Oak Park, IL on Nov. 4, 1950. She preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 2004 in Rockford. Employed by RBH Insurance Company as a broker for 53 years, retiring in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army with the 86th Blackhawk Division during WWII in both theaters. Lifelong member of American Legion McKinley Post in Chicago, IL. Survivors include son, John (Margaret) Mann of Cherry Valley, IL; three grandchildren, John, MaryKate and Jimmy Mann; special nephew, Bob (Mary) Buhle of Valparaiso, IN along with several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three brothers, Fred, Ed and Bob; one sister, Florence; special brother-in-law, Ed. Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 in Provena Cor Mariae Chapel, 3300 Maria Linden Dr., with Reverend James Larson officiating. Interment at 100 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2005 in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL. Visitation 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. prior to service at Provena Cor Mariae. Memorials may be made to the family to be established at a later date to Provena Cor Mariae. Arrangements by Fred C.
