The Bloomingdale Village Board has agreed to pay up to $18,500 to Griffith Murphy Consulting of Evanston for consulting services on the East Army Trail redevelopment area.
Plass Appliances operates a warehouse and retail outlet on a portion of the property at the southwest corner of Valley View Drive and Army Trail Road. Village Administrator Dan Wennerholm said that when the property was annexed in 1992, Plass proposed a retail outlet/strip center next to its warehouse to be built when water and sewer services were available.
The company has decided to go ahead with the project, Wennerholm said, but is looking into the possibility of making it a tax increment financing district.
The village supports that plan, he said.
The developer will reimburse the village for the consulting fees.
