So, uh, anybody want to host the Oscars?
Billy Crystal (left) is the latest comedian to drop out of consideration, telling Variety he’s too busy for Hollywood’s annual pat on the back. Chris Rock ruled out a return as host earlier this month.
With fewer than three months to choose, it’s not clear whom the Academy will choose. The gambling Web site betcris.com lists Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien as its current front-runners, with old stalwarts Steve Martin and Whoopi Goldberg close behind.
Ellen DeGeneres is a dark horse, but, as Entertainment Weekly notes, she’d have to prove she can rise above her “eh” performance hosting the Emmys.
