A gift to suit all the people of the world would be tolerance. From Daniel Webster: “Freedom from bigotry or prejudice, tolerance of views, beliefs, practices, etc., of others that differ from one’s own.” In this country we seem bent on passing laws to do away with other people’s views, beliefs and practices, such as abortion, gay marriages, etc. Let the lesson of 2006 be tolerance.
