CSL North Glenbrook North (17-1, 6-0) started game on 16-4 run behind Jon Scheyer’s 10 pts. Scheyer ended with 22 pts, 4 rebs and 4 asts and Matt Shamis had 17 pts for Spartans. Kyle Nelson had 12 pts for Deerfield (9-8, 3-3).

7 Von Steuben 69 NORTHSIDE PREP 40

Public Red North Darius Fields and Jeremie Simmons had 19 and 16 pts, respectively, to lead Von Steuben (15-4, 6-0). Von Steuben center Kendall Russell has sat last 2 games and will sit out Sunday’s game vs. Hales because of team rules based on academics, according to coach Vince Carter. Michael Burke had 20 pts for Northside Prep (8-9, 0-6).

Suburban Prairie North Rashad Mitchell had 15 pts and 9 rebs and Nick Fruendt had 12 pts to lead Batavia (16-1, 5-0). Steve Ideran added 11 pts and 4 stls for Bulldogs, who went on 20-0 run midway through 2nd qtr to take 35-10 lead with 6:47 remaining in 3rd. Reid Barringer had 8 pts for Sycamore (11-5, 2-3).

Catholic League Robert Belcore had 23 pts, including 5 3-ptrs, to lead Loyola (16-1, 3-0). Edward Hendricks and Peter Sullivan added 16 and 10 pts, respectively, off bench for Ramblers, who have won 12 straight. Krishon Daye had 26 pts for Gordon (8-8, 2-1).

SICA South Silver Mustapha Farrakan had 24 pts on 8-of-17 shooting to lead Thornton (13-3, 3-1). Josh Parker added 17 pts, including 4 3-ptrs. Will Kelly had 18 pts for T.F. South (3-11, 0-4).

Public Red East Keyon Smothers led Washington (16-2, 6-0) with 11 pts. Mario Little and James Jackson added 9 pts apiece. Anthony Williams had 4 of his 6 pts and defensive stop with under 1:30 left to give Washington 55-48 lead. “That was the moment in the game,” coach Ken Crump said. “I wanted to give [Williams] a kiss after that.” Jeremiah Wilson had 18 pts for Hyde Park (10-7, 4-2).

West Suburban Gold Brian Carlwell had 27 pts, 11 rebs and 10 blks to lead Proviso East (12-4, 5-0). Jacob Pullen added 10 pts and 14 asts.

MSL East Mike Will and Jeff Wozencraft had 21and 11 pts, respectively, to lead Buffalo Grove (16-2, 5-1). Pat Wolff added 10 pts. Kyle Gaedele and Reid Larson had 10 pts apiece for Rolling Meadows (8-9, 3-3).

SICA South Silver Thornridge (12-5, 2-2) trailed 10-8 after 1st qtr but used 18-5 2nd qtr to take 26-15 halftime lead. DeMario Williams had 21 pts and 6 rebs to lead Thornridge. Brian Liggett added 12 pts and Billy Rush had 11 pts and 10 rebs. Jamal Daniel had 8 pts and 3 asts for Bloom (9-10, 1-3).

North Suburban Lake Troy Brown had 16 pts as Stevenson (14-4, 6-2) won in double overtime. Benny Morrison added 11 pts and 10 rebs.

CSL South Peter Boehm had 17 pts off bench for New Trier (6-10, 1-4). Johnny Rosinski and Zach Hofeld added 16 and 13 pts, respectively, for Trevians. John Wolf had 28 pts for Maine South (10-7, 3-3).

DuPage Valley Brandon Streets had 18 pts to lead Glenbard East (15-2, 5-2). Jarvis Griffin and Mike Capocci added 12 and 11 pts, respectively. “Tonight was my night to be hot, and my teammates found me,” Streets said. Pat Paradise and Andrew Oudik both had 10 pts for Naperville Central (8-9, 3-4).

Hersey 62 WHEELING 37

MSL East Hersey (12-6, 6-0) went on 11-0 run to open 2nd qtr and take 21-9 lead. Sean Dwyer had 6 of his 22 pts in run, and Sean Bayless added 12 pts and 8 rebs. Henry Hackney had 17 pts and 10 rebs for Wheeling (4-14, 0-6).

Lake Park 73 EAST AURORA 70

Upstate Eight Mike Balleto had 26 pts and 8 rebs to lead Lake Park (12-6, 6-2). “My teammates did a great job of setting screens,” Balleto said. Andreas Lewis added 16 pts and 5 rebs. Shaun Collins had 21 pts for East Aurora (9-9, 2-5).

West Suburban Gold Dan Schouten had 25 pts, including 15 of Downers South’s 19 in 4th qtr. Elliot Engelmann added 14 pts and 11 rebs for Mustangs (12-4, 4-1). “My teammates gave me assists,” Schouten said. “I just tried to concentrate on the rim and finish.” Bryan Erce had 21 pts for Morton (9-7, 2-3).

PROVISO WEST 53 Downers North 47

West Suburban Silver Darius Watson (12 pts) scored twice on Downers North turnovers with under 2:15 remaining to give Proviso West 49-46 lead with 1:09 left. “We knew we had to pick up the intensity on defense and pressure their ball-handlers so we could force them into turning the ball over,” Watson said. Don Gavin led Panthers (14-6, 2-2) with 13 pts.

Oak Park 70 HINSDALE CENT. 60

West Suburban Silver Hinsdale Central closed to 53-52 with 4:35 left, but Oak Park (11-4, 4-1) scored 6 unanswered pts to take control of game. Lamont Sanders and Phil Gary had 29 and 10 pts, respectively, for Huskies. Chris Chana had 20 pts to lead Hinsdale Central (11-7, 2-4).

Public Blue East Myson Hudson had 21 pts as DuSable (7-5, 4-1) won in overtime. “Down the stretch we hit our free throws, which we haven’t been doing lately,” coach Richard Morgan said.

Brittany Hogen led Huskies with 15 pts and 14 rebs. Sherrie Dubinski and Julie Block added 15 and 12 pts, respectively. Laura Joya had 20 pts for Wheeling (18-3, 4-2).

Public Windy City West Marquita Smith led Crane (15-2, 5-2) with 12 pts and 14 rebs. Fila Smith added 11 pts and Sade Haywood had 10 pts and 11 rebs.
