Pan-Africanism in the 21st Century
Malcolm X College and The Heartland Institute are hosting a symposium Tuesday on “The Promise of African Markets in the Global Village.”
The program will remember Malcolm X and discuss the role of Pan-Africanism and entrepreneurship in African-American culture. Malcolm X College Professor Haki Madhubuti, will deliver the symposium’s keynote address on “Pan-Africanism and Globalism in the 21st Century.”
Lee Walker, president of The New Coalition for Economic and Social Change, will discuss the legacy of Booker T. Washington in a presentation titled “Entrepreneurship, Nationalism, and Industrial Education from Tuskegee to Today.”
Ralph Conner, government affairs manager for The Heartland Institute, will present “Free Countries and Free Markets: Food for Thought.”
The event takes place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria of Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Van Buren St.
