Executives’ Club features Barnes

Brenda Barnes will keynote The Executives’ Club of Chicago Fortune 500 CEO Luncheon Series with her speech “Sara Lee … Making Things Happen.”

The luncheon begins at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Grand Ballroom of the Chicago Hilton, 720 S. Michigan Ave. A reception at 11:45 a.m. precedes the luncheon.

Barnes is chairman and chief executive officer of Sara Lee Corp., a position she was appointed to in October 2005. She joined the company in July 2004 as president and chief operating officer and was named president and CEO in February 2005. Previously, she spent 22 years at PepsiCo, where she was president and CEO of PepsiCola North America from 1996 to 1998 and chief operating officer since 1994. From November 1999 to March 2000, Barnes was interim president and chief operating officer of Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
