Two foreign soldiers in the U.S.-led coalition were killed and three U.S. soldiers were wounded in two attacks Tuesday.

The foreign coalition soldiers died when their armored vehicle struck a roadside bomb in eastern Nangarhar province. A third soldier and an Afghan interpreter also were wounded. None of the victims was identified. U.S. and German troops are the only foreign forces in the coalition known to be operating in Nangarhar province, provincial police said.

Also Tuesday, a suicide attacker detonated a car bomb next to a U.S. military convoy 5 miles outside the eastern city of Khowst, police chief Muhammab Ayub said by phone. Three U.S. soldiers were injured.
