A month before, Herbert Gronemeyer, who is described on the FIFA site as “perhaps the most popular singer in Germany,” will open the matches with “Celebrate the Day,” a song on the World Cup album “Voices.” Not included on “Voices”? David Hasselhoff, who has to be stinging from that “most popular singer in Germany” stuff.
