I LOVE …
… the donuts sold at the Oak Park farmers market (Lake and Elmwood Avenues). They are fantastic!!!!
–Brian Cost, Oak Park
… seeing young kids at neighborhood music festivals as they dance without a care in the world or take it all in from atop dad’s shoulders.
–Lara Weber, editor
… the appetizers and ribs at The Gale Street Inn (4914 N. Milwaukee Ave., 773-725-1300). They are … phenomenal!
–Robert T. Hogan, Chicago
… the palm trees on Oak Street Beach. Of course, it will never be that warm year ’round to support that kind of vegetation here. But a beach bum can dream, eh?
–Lou Carlozo, editor
I HATE …
… when the restaurant staff clears one person’s meal while the other person is still eating. It makes the person who finished first look like they rushed through their meal, and the last person feels uncomfortable and has to stop eating.
–Val Fitzgerald, Wilmette
… when my cycle class is just finishing up and steppers come in, glaring at you because you haven’t cleared out of “their” spot fast enough.
–Denise Joyce, editor
… when a sales clerk answers the phone when I’ve been waiting in line way before it started to ring.
–Mary Ann Furuta, Barrington
