America is fat. Far too many Americans are fat. And yet our press, from this paper to many news stations, continue to show us images of these gluttonous individuals in hot-dog-eating contests and other food orgies. These are not news and don’t even qualify as human-interest stories. You all continue to talk about government irresponsibility, and then you show how irresponsible you can be yourselves. How about all news agencies pledging to never show any of that type of contest again? Please don’t glorify gluttony.
