Bassist/band mouthpiece Pete Wentz broke the news to mtv.com, saying shakeups at the Chicago rockers’ record label would make recording a follow-up to “From Under the Cork Tree” impossible.
As Wentz told mtv.com: “We tried, but there was just too much [bleep] going on.”
The band will be appearing on the “Snakes on a Plane” soundtrack, which Wentz is playing a major role in assembling and releasing via his Decaydance label, Spin magazine reports on its Web site.
“[SOAP] reminds me of some mark in the cultural history of 2006 in the same way Clear Pepsi and shaving lines in the side of your head were back in the day,” Wentz told Spin.
