The Lookingglass Theatre Company is taking its hit 2005 production of “Lookingglass Alice” on an East Coast tour. The tour, which features the entire original cast, starts in January at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, N.J., moves on to the New Victory Theater in New York City in February (where it’s one of several Chicago shows on the theater’s 2006-07 slate), and visits Philadelphia’s Arden Theatre Company in May. The “Alice” tour culminates next June with a return summer engagement at Lookingglass’ home theater in the Water Tower Water Works. … A new musical by Paul Bruce called “Madame X” is headed to the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts. Set in Bordeaux, France, in 1901, the show is based on a 1906 play, “La Femme X,” by Alexandre Bisson. The show was first seen in 1991 at The Players Guild, a community theater in Bruce’s hometown of Dearborn, Mich., and a concept album was recorded in 2000. But this will be the first full-blown professional (albeit non-Equity) production. Presented by AlleyCat productions, tickets go on sale Monday. … Cristen Page, the star of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at the Drury Lane Water Tower Place, is going to be one busy woman. She’s also in the cast of the new daytime kids’ production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire. The show opens Saturday under Rachel Rockwell’s direction. … Greg Kolack is directing the first Chicago production of “The Exonerated.” The anti-death penalty documentary piece opens at the Raven Theatre on Aug. 27.
