Alexander Ripley Cameron, 22, a student at Northern Illinois University, died July 20 in a car accident in DeKalb County. A proud and spiritual young man with a strong sense of history, he left his unique imprint on all those who crossed his path. He had a warm smile and a caring heart. Majoring in political science, he dreamt of going to law school and one day becoming a U.S. Senator. Alex is survived by his parents Shelley and Michael Cameron, both of LaGrange; his brother, Daniel Cameron of Mt. Prospect; his stepmother Christine Atkins; stepsiblings Claire and Jens Pedersen, all of LaGrange. Visitation 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family and friends to meet at the funeral home, 8:45 a.m. Monday, departing at 9 a.m. to Bronswood Cemetery, 3805 Madison St., Oak Brook, for a graveside service at 9:30 a.m. Donations may be sent to Little Friends, Inc., 140 N.
