Ted J. Wayne, age 93, of DeMotte, IN, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away July 23, 2006, at St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 1, 1912, in Chicago, IL, to Frances Wayne (Reiche) and John Wayne. Ted J. Wayne graduated from Bowen High School, Chicago, IL, Class of 1930. He then attended Metallurgy classes at Armour Tech (IIT) in Chicago, IL, and Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. He was a retired Supervisor from US Steel, Southworks, after 45 years. He was a member of the Men of Leisure (MOL) of Beverly; past president of Beverly Hills University Club and Tennis Club; a member of American Institute of Metallurgical Engineers (AIME); and a member of Ridge Country Club. Ted Wayne is survived by Nora Marie Wayne, wife, DeMotte, IN; Penny (Rodney) Warran, daughter, DeMotte, IN, Michael Hummel (Barbara) Wayne, son, Homewood, IL; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Ted Wayne was preceded in death by John Wayne, father, Frances Wayne, nee Reiche, mother, and two brothers.
