– In the Travel section’s World Watch column on Sept. 10, the U.S. Virgin Islands report on an attack on a tourist and an earlier alleged hate-crime rape–both on St. John–included several errors. The person attacked two years before the tourist at the same location was a local, not a tourist. In the rape case, the neighbor was not a suspect and was neither arrested nor convicted on any charges connected to that case. His conviction was on a non-sexual assault charge against the same person at a different time.
The Tribune regrets the errors.
