Ruth Nothacker, nee Opdal, of Sarasota, FL, and formerly of Chicago, passed away September 18, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Arlene (Steven) Merriman. Ruth was a graduate of the University of Chicago, taught science at Farragut High School for 20 years and retired from the Chicago Police Dept. after 14 years of service. She was a proud lifemember of Amvets Post 18 and the American Legion Post 207, as well as a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, froom 5 to 8 p.m. at the Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral and Cremation Center, 6467-73 N. Northwest Hwy. (1 blk. N. of Devon), Chicago, and Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment Rosehill Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Church of God-PKG, P.O.
