I don’t know much about Wicca, and I suspect Laura Mallory doesn’t either (“She wants Harry Potter to disappear; Mom seeks school ban on `harmful’ books,” News, Oct. 5), but I do know that the basic tenet of Wicca is “harm none.”
Those of us who read the books know that is what Harry Potter and friends are being taught.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all live by that tenet regardless of our religion. Perhaps if the magic in the books were called “miracles,” it would be more acceptable to those who don’t want the rest of us to read them.
