A 2006 access fair for special needs college-bound students and their parents will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Rd. The Mt. Prospect School District 57 Foundation is raffling off a 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit. Tickets cost $20. Money raised will support curriculum, technology and wellness at Westbrook, Fairview, Lions Park and Lincoln Schools in Mt. Prospect. The drawing will be held March 10. Students at Lions Park School in Mt. Prospect are being asked to bring in their loose change this week. The goal is to raise $400 to donate to Abney Elementary School in Slidell, La., which lost all of its books and supplies because of Hurricane Katrina.

An outerwear drive will be held through Friday at all district schools. Students and staff members have been asked to bring coats, hats, gloves, scarves and boots in good condition. Families in Elk Grove Village, Mt. Prospect, Des Plaines and Arlington Heights may receive these donations from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Friendship Junior High School, 550 Elizabeth Lane, Des Plaines; and Holmes Junior High School, 1900 W. Lonnquist Blvd., Mt. Prospect.
