The Velvet Underground have hit it big–on eBay. According to The Associated Press, record collector Warren Hill discovered an extremely rare copy of the band’s first recording four years ago at a Manhattan flea market and purchased it for 75 cents. Hill put the 12-inch, acetate LP up for auction Nov. 28 and sold it on eBay for a closing bid of $155,401.
Not bad for a flea market find.
