A small plane crashed into a yard Sunday morning, killing four people aboard and embedding its engine into a house, authorities said.
No injuries to people on the ground were reported. The victims’ names were not immediately released.
The control tower at Charlotte Douglas International Airport notified fire officials of a crash at 11:30 a.m., fire Capt. Rob Brisley said. It wasn’t clear whether the single-engine Cessna, which crashed about three miles from the airport, was taking off or landing.
A second brick home in the neighborhood also suffered structural damage, Brisley said.
