Beloved husband of 31 years to Shirley Ann Leer; loving father of Jeffrey Leer, Donna (Jeffrey) Lee, Robert Leer, William (Bonnie) Leer, Carolyn (Thomas) Prozel; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson, all from a previous marriage; stepfather of Paul and Michael Zieroth; two step grandchildren; brother of Richard Dale Leer and Dena Delinger. He passed away quietly at home in Tinley Park, IL, of natural causes. He was 78 years old. Born Dec. 17, 1928, in Alexandria, IN. He was a Korean War Veteran. He graduated from Northwestern University in 1958. Employed by Cook County Highway Department since 1982.
