Illinois starting point guard and assist leader Chester Frazier is a question mark for Sunday’s game at Michigan State because of the groin injury that kept him out of Wednesday’s victory over Iowa.
According to Illinois basketball spokesman Kent Brown: “The doctors have determined it’s a strain, not a tear, and he didn’t need to have an MRI. He’s having treatment and is day-to-day.”
Illini recruit Mike Tisdale, a 7-foot senior center from Riverton (Ill.) High School, will miss the remainder of the season after breaking the little finger on his right hand in Tuesday’s victory over Divernon. Surgery was performed Wednesday and two pins were inserted to repair the break.

– Illinois-Chicago guard Josh Mayo had his upper front tooth repaired Thursday morning after most of the tooth cracked off during a scrum for a loose ball in the opening seconds of UIC’s win over No. 12 Butler on Wednesday. Mayo returned and scored 19 points in 29 minutes. Also guard Spencer Stewart, who missed the Butler game with back spasms, should return Saturday against Loyola.
– Austin Montgomery’s 18 points lifted IUPUI (7-8, 1-1 Mid-Continent) past Western Illinois (4-13, 0-3) 68-55. . . . Tennessee-Martin (5-13, 3-5 Ohio Valley) defeated Eastern Illinois 67-43. Ousmane Cisse had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Panthers (5-13, 1-8).
– Minnesota center Spencer Tollackson likely will miss three weeks of playing time because of a broken left hand.
