Aigre Doux Restaurant & Bakery (230 W. Kinzie St.) has opened. Husband-wife team Mohammad Islam and Malika Ameen, both alums of the Ritz-Carlton and the famed Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, have put together a casual concept with a lunch and dinner restaurant (lunch won’t start for a few weeks) and a breakfast-lunch bakery. 312-329-9400.

Ordinarily it takes a nasty winter to make a Chicago chef bolt for warmer climes, but despite our milder-than-usual weather this year, Ryan Poli has packed his bags for Scottsdale, Ariz., where he’ll be opening his own place out west. (Hey, when the investors have the money ready, you make your move.) Lee Wolen, sous chef under Poli, has been promoted to Butter’s top toque.

Convito Cafe & Market (1515 Sheridan Rd., Wilmette) is back in business, having taken the last few months off to move to the other side of the Plaza del Lago mall, relocating to the space that belonged to sister property Betise. The new creation is a lunch and dinner cafe with an attached retail market offering prepared foods, meats and cheeses, groceries, breads and gift baskets. And a wine department, of course. The cafe will offer a French-Italian mix that will include previous Convito and Betise dishes. 847-251-3654.

Scylla (1952 N. Damen Ave.) has tweaked its seafood-centric menu, adding more landlubber items and keeping all its entrees under the $20. If chef Stephanie Izard has half the touch with meat as she does with fish, this is pretty good news. 773-227-2995.

Another America’s Dog has opened at 26 E. Randolph St. This is the third location for George Alpogianis’ mini-chain of regional hot-dog specialties; there’s also a store at 2600 N. Lincoln Ave., in addition to the Navy Pier original.
