This is regarding “U.S. needs to hear Bush admit errors” (Commentary, Jan. 16), by Geoffrey R. Stone. We are so tired of hearing the media claim that “the American people” are tired of the Iraq war and George W. Bush. We are American people and we are very proud that Bush is our president, and we are not alone.

Also, what do you consider weapons of mass destruction? Is an atomic bomb your only criterion? Saddam Hussein, all by himself, was a weapon of mass destruction. Where was the world’s outcry when he massacred millions of people?

We do agree on one of Stone’s points: The Iraqis must take responsibility for themselves. But they will need the aid and support of other nations, just as we did after the American Revolution.

Perhaps it’s time to stop the Bush-bashing and tell the whole story for a change.
