Onorio “Orio” Mario Cabonargi, age 65, died suddenly Jan. 22, 2007 in Highland Park. Immigrating to the United States at age 19 in 1960, Onorio worked in the hospitality industry in a 40 year career where he rose to management at leading North Shore country clubs. Onorio enjoyed interacting with club members, guests and employees at Exmoor, Northmoor and Ravinia Green Country Clubs. Onorio’s dedication to hard work, family and core values reflected in a life well-lived with laughter, good food and most of all, love. Loving father of Michael (Erin Lavin) Cabonargi and Benjamin Cabonargi (Genevieve) Patzka; cherished grandfather of William Mario and John Mario Cabonargi; best friend and former husband of Francine; dear brother of Iole (Mauro) Gali; proud uncle of many. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dina Parenti Cabonargi and Orlando Cabonargi of Modena, Italy. The extended family of Caesar and Mary Rose Bernardi sustained his family ties with Italy and enabled the Cabonargi family to treasure their heritage with love and respect that gives us strength at our tremendous loss.
