Maybe more Americans should see “An Inconvenient Truth,” the Oscar-nominated documentary featuring Al Gore lecturing about the dangers of global warming. According to a new study, more than one in 10 Americans reported they did not know anything about global warming, Reuters reported. The U.S. is the world’s top source of greenhouse gasses, which climate scientists point to as a cause for rising temperatures. The 46-country survey of more than 25,000 Internet users showed that a majority of respondents considered climate change to be a serious or very serious problem, Reuters said. The study found that:

13%

of Americans have never heard or read anything about global warming.

57%

of people around the world consider global warming a “very serious problem,” and 34 percent say it is a “serious problem.”

U.S. citizens were the least concerned with climate change, with 42 percent rating global warming “very serious.” People in Latin America were the most concerned, with 75 percent calling it a very serious issue.
