If there need be a literal kicking off of Super Bowl week, the man to handle the job might be en route. After all, what would a week dedicated to frivolity and overwrought hype be without a David Beckham watch? The Miami Herald reported receiving an e-mail that said the newly signed Los Angeles Galaxy star will show at the Moves Magazine party on Wednesday night. The newspaper said his arrival would be courtesy one of the party’s sponsors, Kraken Opus, a maker of giant commemorative tomes that cost thousands of dollars and weigh in the neighborhood of 80 pounds. (Not to be confused with the shoe collection of Beckham’s wife, Victoria, formerly known as “Posh Spice.”)
