Steven Isoye, principal at Warren Township High School’s O’Plaine Campus, will become principal of Maine East High School in Park Ridge. Isoye, 43, will leave Warren Township at the end of June.

Weifang Wang, a teacher at Highland Park High School, was elected president of the new North Shore Chinese Teachers Association. The group is a branch of the Midwest Chinese Teachers Alliance.

Lake Forest Academy will celebrate its 150th anniversary with a party for adults from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 13 in Reid Hall at the school, 1500 W. Kennedy Rd. The event will include the opening of a history exhibit. Students and faculty will take part in a charter day celebration from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the school’s Cressey Center. All current and former Sheridan School students, staff members and their families, as well as district families and staff, may attend Sheridan’s 50th birthday reunion and rededication from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 11 at 1360 N. Sheridan Rd. Former students are asked to send a short paragraph on their fondest Sheridan memory, which will be displayed during the celebration. The College of Lake County’s trustees recently approved a three-year project to encourage North Chicago high school students to pursue a college education. Students will get the chance to enroll in college-level courses and take part in activities aimed at helping students and parents better understand the benefits of college.

The district will hold a kindergarten registration information night Tuesday in the gym at Fremont Elementary School, 28908 N. Fremont Center Rd. Registration will be held at 6 p.m. for children whose last name begins with “A” through “L,” and at 7 p.m. for children whose last name begins with “M” through “Z.” Any child who will be 5 on or before Sept. 1 is eligible for kindergarten in the fall.
