With the Smashing Pumpkins’ new album “Zeitgeist” set to drop July 7, fans are getting anxious, crazy even.

Two guys decided to take matters into their own hands and allegedly broke into the band’s Chicago rehearsal space on Friday night, according to mtv.com. The pair steered clear of expensive equipment and demo tapes and instead lifted three guitar picks and 39 photographs, Chicago Police Officer Marcel Bright told MTV. The photos were briefly posted on Pumpkin’s fan site net phoria.org along with info on the heist, MTV said. (The band’s rep confirmed the burglary but didn’t comment on what the photos had been intended for.)

Among the photos were images of Paris Hilton posing in front of an exploding bomb, the grim reaper at a podium featuring the presidential seal, and Billy Corgan standing next to a topless woman.

Building tenants provided police with a description of the thieves, and the pair was arrested and charged Monday, Bright said.
