An opening reception for Vision 2007, a juried art exhibition featuring works by the district’s high school students, will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday in First Community Bank, 50 Tyler Creek Plaza, Elgin. Awards will be presented at 6:30 p.m. The exhibition will run through June 1 and is open during regular banking hours.

The annual bilingual family gathering will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Frost Junior High School, 320 W. Wise Rd., Schaumburg. DISTRICT 214

An opening reception for the annual District 214 Randhurst Fine Arts Show featuring work by students in all six high schools will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Carson’s and Applebee’s courts at Randhurst Shopping Center, Rand and Elmhurst Roads, Mt. Prospect. The exhibition will run through May 29.

The Prospect High School Marching Knights will hold a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the school, 801 W. Kensington Rd., Mt. Prospect. All proceeds will be used for students’ band fees and related expenses.

ELGIN

The annual Fine Arts Festival will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of Elgin Academy, 350 Park St. Students will perform music and dance on the outdoor stage. Paintings, sketches, sculpture and other visual arts will be exhibited throughout the campus. There will also be workshops on Asian brush painting, mosaic art and design. McHENRY COUNTY COLLEGE

Kids and College program will hold classes this summer on the college campus, 8900 U.S. Highway 14, Crystal Lake; Richmond Grade School, 5815 Broadway St., Richmond; and Locust Elementary School, 539 S. More than 100 classes — topics include aquatics, time management, snakes, digital photography, myths, Chinese brush painting, ACT prep — for first grade through high school students have been scheduled.
