Lorraine E. Blacketer, 84, of Missoula, MT, passed away of congestive heart failure on Wednesday, May 16, 2006 at Village Healthcare Center. Lorraine was born on May 28, 1922 to Herbert and Lillie, nee Burklind, Voss. Lorraine went on to graduate from Roosevelt High School. She eventually met and married Richard Blacketer on Jan. 2, 1947 they later divorced. She spent her working career with Merrill Lynch as a teletype operator for 32 years. Lorraine delighted in the accomplishments of her grandsons; Richard III and Raymond; she shared the family love of horses and dogs. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son Richard and daughter in law Ruth with their two sons Richard III and Ray of Florence, MT; niece Cheryl Beigh of Kankakee, IL, and nephew Robert Hatch of Plainfield, IL. There will be visitation at Garden City Funeral Homein Missoula on Saturday, May 19, 2007 from 2 to 3 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A family gathering will take place following the graveside service. Memorial donations can be made in Lorraine’s name to the local chapter of the Humane Society.
