Paging Dr. Preston Burke: Please report to the set of “Grey’s Anatomy” this fall.
Just because Burke, played by Isaiah Washington, packed his bags on the show’s season finale last week after bailing on his wedding to Dr. Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), it doesn’t mean he’s being dumped by the show, his publicist said Friday.
“We fully expect to be back in the fall,” spokesman Howard Bragman said. “The deal’s not done, but we have no reason to believe he won’t be putting on the scrubs.”
A furor over Washington’s use of a slur in reference to gay castmate T.R. Knight at the Golden Globes in January had provoked speculation that his job might be in jeopardy, The Associated Press reports.
