Ed Bolsenga, 84, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 26, at Iles Funeral Homes – Brandt Chapelin Dallas Center, with burial to follow at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes. Ed was born in Chicago, IL and lived in the Chicago area all of his life prior to moving to Dallas Center, IA in 1993. He was a custodian at the Evanston Illinois School District #65 for 23 years before retiring in 1991. Ed was a strong believer in God and his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Ed is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann; daughter, Linda Louise Bolsenga of Omaha, NE; son, Dave (Cyndy) Bolsenga of Grimes; his grandson, Beau Bolsenga, currently serving in the US Coast Guard; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jon and Kunegunda Bolsenga; and his brothers, Joseph and Stanley (Catherine) Bolsenga. Visitation begins after 3 p.m. Friday, at Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a memorial to be directed later.
